An Evening of Dance Returns for Second Year

On Tuesday 28th January the ‘Breaking Waves’ dance show hosted by The Folkestone Academy will be returning to Quarterhouse in Folkestone’s Creative Quarter, for an evening of dance from local primary and secondary schools.

The ‘Breaking Waves’ event is in its second year after a successful show in 2013.  The event has been organised by Mrs Patricia Cullen, Acting Head of Performing Arts at The Folkestone Academy and will be a showcase of dance performed by children and young adults in the local area.  To date, confirmed performers will be from The Folkestone Academy, The Folkestone Primary Academy, Hawkinge Primary School, Folkestone School For Girls, Brockhill Park, UCF, Instep Dance Company, Elite Dance Company and Loop Ed Dance Group.

Mrs Cullen comments on the event: “Due to the success of last year we are now joined by both Primary and Secondary Schools from the South East. Breaking Waves is a platform for dancers to showcase their talent and celebrate the amazing work that is taking place. The local community will be treated to an evening of dance from ages ranging from eight to eighteen. The dancers are set to perform with energy, passion and above all present an entertaining show.”

Tickets cost £5 for adults and £3 for concessions and children and can be purchased by calling the Quarterhouse Box Office visit or call on 01303 858500.  The performance will start at 6.30pm.
