Science Brainiacs Take Part in Children’s TV Show

Four 10 and 11 year old boys from the Folkestone Primary Academy have taken part in the children’s TV programme ‘Ultimate Brain’.  The CBBC science-based gameshow sees Dr Brain challenge two schools and a team of CBBC celebrities against oneanother testing them with scientific tasks and conundrums in the fight to become the ‘Ultimate Brain’.

Pupils - Charlie, Arthur, Finley and Samuel travelled to the 3 Mills Studios in London during the Easter holidays, after being picked by their teachers to compete in the show. Their audition involved a Skype call with producers from the show asking them a number of science themed questions.

This was the second series of Ultimate Brain to be recorded, with the boy’s episode being aired in the summer.  During the show they competed against another primary school from Wales along with three girls from the CBBC programme ‘Dixi’.  After a number of challenges the boys were crowned the episode’s ‘Ultimate Brain’.

Miss Feaver, teacher at the Primary Academy, helped the boys with the application and facilitated the Skype call with the show.  She comments: “During the interview process, the boys worked methodically and demonstrated great team work.  We are incredibly proud of their success – well done boys!”
